Feeding Senior Horses
Senior horses can present feeding challenges due to decreased digestive efficiency, dental issues, obesity, loss of mobility, health concerns and/or loss of body condition. Aged horses benefit from concentrate feeds that provide highly digestible fiber and energy sources. Dental problems may require a feed that contains processed forage to help meet fiber needs. Quality protein and a complete balanced mineral and vitamin source is needed. Older horses can also benefit from small, frequent meals due to lower digestive efficiency.

Refer to Usage & Feeding Guidelines under the “Resources” section for recommended products to feed to senior horses. Additional energy can be supplied with HEALTHY GLO® or MOORGLO®.
