Feeding Performance Horses
Body condition is the most obvious indicator of energy adequacy of the diet. All performance horses benefit from a nutritional sound diet that provides sufficient protein, minerals and vitamins along with energy. The critical factor impacting a horse’s performance may hinge on type of energy sources used in the diet. Traditional horse diets utilize large amounts of cereal grains for energy which predisposes the horse to digestive and metabolic disorders, such as founder, colic, tying-up, etc. A better way to fuel a horse’s energy needs is through inclusion of stabilized rice bran, vegetable oils, flaxseed and highly digestible and fermentable fiber sources like those provided in our equine products.

Refer to Usage & Feeding Guidelines under the “Resources” section for recommended products to feed to performance horses. Additional energy can be supplied with HEALTHY GLO® or MOORGLO®.
